Which evaluation is best for my child?

Full Psychoeducational Evaluations

 These evaluations are designed to explore the possibility of a specific learning impairement or learning difference. In addition, they will help determine whether or not ADHD tendencies play a roll in the learning issues. Students with learning differences are bright and need specific recommended strategies to meet their potential. Such strategies will be given to the school and families of each student.

Students will typically be administered the WISC-V, WJ-IV, WPPSI-IV or the WAIS-IV to measure cognitive functioning. The academic skills of a student will be measured using any combination of the following: WIAT-III, GORT-5, CELF-5, and CTOPP-2. In addition, intake information from the parents and teachers in the form of formal and informal questionnaires and report cards will be included in the final report and summary.

The fee includes all assessments, a parent conference, a full report and learning profile. In some cases this also includes a phone conference with the teacher or a tutor.

Fee for students from ages 5 to 15 are $1300.00. This evaluation typically takes around 5 hours and results can be expected within two weeks of the evaluation.

Fee for students age 16 and up are $1500.00. Colleges require more evaluation measures in order for students to receive support services at that level therefore the evaluations are longer. this evaluation takes between 6 and 7 hours and is often broken up into two sessions.

An addition fee of $200 is added for travel if the examiner travels to  your students school outside of the DFW area. Most evaluation are conducted at the Thompson Diagnostics, LLC office in Plano.

ADHD Screener Battery

​​This battery will examine the seven areas of cognitive function which includes an IQ score and ADHD screeners from the student, parent, and teacher. This combination of information will help the doctor and family determine how significant the ADHD symptoms may be and what type of interventions might best suit this student and their family.  

The fee for this evaluation is $650 and includes the assessment, a report, and a conference presenting the results. The evaluation usually lasts about two hours and results are given within two weeks of the evaluation.

Student Readiness Battery

​This battery of tests has been put together to help determine kindergarten readiness. It is often difficult to decide when your child is ready for school especially if they have a late spring or summer birthday. This evaluation includes cognitive functioning and reading, writing, and math readiness. The numbers will show whether your child is ready academically.

This evaluation usually takes 2.5 hours and can be conducted in one or two sessions depending on the student. The fee includes the evaluation, a report, and a parent conference. It is $650.
